The really cool thing about one-year olds is that they love to play with and discovery toys, so I always hide one in my pocket and pull it out just when he is loosing his patience or is getting tired. I love the look on their faces when they first discover a new object or sound. It is simply priceless!
Sensory activities are also great to keep one-year-olds busy and engaged during a session. However, a baby can fall in love with a particular item and then that object will inevitably be in every single image thereafter!
Ian, for instance, felt in love with this colorful plastic ball, and Mom realized we had to allow baby to keep the ball or face huge tantrums! We gladly allowed him to hold on to this “non-camera-friendly” prop, and in exchange, Ian gave us plenty of smiles and beautiful imagesJ
